i-Tutorial Help
Adobe Acrobat Reader
It is advisable to open Adobe Acrobat Reader before running your i-Tutorial. This enables the i-Tutorial to run more efficiently.
Screen Resolution
To view your i-Tutorial correctly, set the screen resolution of your PC to 1024 by 768 pixels. To do this, go to the Start menu and select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display. When the Display Properties dialog box opens, select the Settings tab and in the Screen resolution section select 1024 by 768 pixels. Click the OK button. Your screen will be reset to the recommended resolution.
Close all other Programs
If you experience difficulties viewing the i-Tutorial, close all other non-essential programs (other than Acrobat Reader). This ensures that your computer resources are at optimum level and frees up memory (RAM) needed to run the i-Tutorial.
Unnecessary Toolbars
To maximize the screen space to view your i-Tutorial, remove unnecessary toolbars from your browser window. To do this select View > Toolbars > Address Bar and/or Links. This will remove each toolbar from your browser window respectively indicated by the tick no longer appearing next to the toolbar item. To reinstate the toolbars, repeat this process.
Internet Traffic
If you are viewing i-Tutorials from your home internet connection, a fast connection such as a broadband is required. Try to schedule viewing off-peak when internet traffic will be less. A slow internet connection may result in i-Tutorials not loading properly or the video/presenter not displaying.
Video
You can view the video full screen on your computer by placing the cursor of your mouse over the video and double clicking on it. To return to the original i-Tutorial set-up, double click on the video.
Volume
Ensure that the volume settings are not set to 'Mute' by adjusting your volume settings using the Volume icon on the Taskbar (bottom left of the screen). You can also adjust the i-Tutorial volume level by using the Volume Controls in the video console of the i-Tutorial.
You may also download codecs that can rectify audio problems related to Windows media Player.
You may at your own discretion adjust Windows Media Player registry files - details found in the Troubleshooting: Audio section below.
This may be due to recent updates from Microsoft. To remove this border you can download the patch at the following Microsoft web page:

The reason this needs to be checked is that the time settings are passed as numbers with a decimal point (some languages have different setting for this). This causes the i-Tutorial not to recognize the numbers being passed from the video, and the content being displayed correctly (stuck at the beginning).
If you have downloaded i-Tutorials from a USB device (memory stick) then you will need to assign Flash Security permissions for the location on your PC to which you have downloaded your i-Tutorials. Once this is set you will be able to open links in the i-Tutorials.
in your Internet Explorer browser.i-Tutorials are powered by a Macromedia Flash Player running on your computer. Flash is the ideal environment for distributing interactive e-learning products; however, the ubiquity of this technology increases the potential for malicious use to occur undetected. The latest version of Flash Player (version 8 upwards) includes a new security model to protect the data on your computer.
The security model has introduced a security policy (or “sandbox”) which requires the user to grant permission to trust the contents delivered from a particular provider. This may effect Flash Drives (sometimes called a ‘Flash Stick’ or ‘USB Drive’) .
I have enabled Flash Security settings on my computer but I still have no functionality?
Flash Internet Explorer version: 7.0.5730.13 have removed the "My Computer" component of it's Security settings. This may interfere with the iTutorial functionality (Local content from a Flash stick saved to your PC), and you may need to run a previous version of Internet Explorer for your iTutorial to work correctly.
To see which version of Internet Explorer you have select Help and then select About Internet Explorer from your Internet Explorer menu bar.

Important
Please ensure that scripting is enabled in Internet Explorer.
All i-Tutorials that are run locally (i.e. downloaded to your PC) need trust/permission settings to be configured before they will function correctly. If you choose not to grant these permissions, you will only be able to view the presenter video of your i-Tutorial but will not be able to navigate or perform any activities in the i-Tutorial.
If you have downloaded i-Tutorials to your PC using a Flash Drive, then use i-Tutorial Security - Manual Walkthrough (USB) to manually set the permissions. To view a video guide on settings, click here.
