The Flash 8 Player Security Feature

We would like to ensure that your i-Tutorial runs securely and effectively with the new security features available in the Flash 8 Player. Please follow this essential 5 step procedure to manually set up your security policy.

Security Policy: Manual Setup for Flash Drives (sometimes called a ‘Flash Stick’ or ‘USB Drive’)

IMPORTANT
Please look at all the images/steps 1 to 5 below to help you with the security setup before you click the 'Global Security Settings Panel' link. Keep this window/page open while you are adjusting your settings.

Step 1 of 5: Global Security Settings
Access your Macromedia Flash Player Manager - Global Security Settings as shown in Figure 1 (below) by clicking the link below. Please note, an internet connection is required.

Step 2 of 5: Add location
Clicking on the 'Edit locations...' combo box reveals a list of options. Select the option 'Add location'

Step 3 of 5: Browse for folder
Click the 'Browse for folder...' button

Step 4 of 5: Locate your downloaded i-Tutorials
Double click the folder labelled iTutorial_Structure and then select the folder labelled iTutorials (see figure 4 and 5 below ).
Click the OK button to confirm your selection.

NOTE: For a Flash Drive it might be (G:) or (F:) drives (or whichever drive you may have customized your Flash Drive to run from.
It might be better though to run your i-Tutorials from your (C:) drive.

NOTE:
Some newer iTutorial models will require you to choose the Local Disk (C:)/Courses/... and then /LPC /GDL or /OU as the trust path.

You will see the path to your iTutorials showin in the 'Always trust files in these locations' list box (as shown below in Figure 6)

You may now close the 'Global Security Settings' browser window.

Step 5 of 5: Close all windows and restart your i-Tutorial by clicking the links in the launch page

Now that you have finished setting up your Security Policy you will be able to run i-Tutorials that are saved to that location.
CLOSE THIS WINDOW and then restart your i-Tutorial (if you haven't already got the launch page open you should find it on the root of the drive that you downloaded your i-Tutorials to, or you can launch it from the launch icon installed on your PC desktop screen).
